Join us Wednesday, November 20, 2019 to hear University of Alberta professor, public speaker, and author, Mark Anielski.

Mark is a well-being economist and an international expert in measuring the happiness and well-being of communities and businesses. Alberta Venture magazine named him one of the 50 most influential people in Alberta in 2008. Mark has over 30 years of experience in the public and private sectors where he has conducted many socio-economic-environmental projects to assess the economic, societal and ecological impacts of a variety of public policies. Mark calls his well-being accounting model Genuine Wealth, based on the Old English definition of the word wealth which literally means ‘the conditions of well-being’.

He holds three degrees from the University of Alberta in economics, forest science and a master's degree in forest economics. Mark was the founding professor of one of the first courses on Corporate Social Responsibility and Social Entrepreneurship at the University of Alberta’s School of Business. He taught MBA students there between 2003 and 2012.

Mark is the author of the award-winning-best-selling book The Economics of Happiness: Building Genuine Wealth (New Society Publishers, 2007) and his second book An Economy of Well-being: Practical Tools for Building Genuine Wealth and Happiness (2018).

Mark believes a new era in the world of finance and wealth management is possible that focuses on well-being impacts from investments in a broad suite of assets.
